At 5:15 on a November morning, Matt picked up Ross for what she thought was their usual workout. Instead of turning left toward the gym, he turned right — and the adventure that would lead to their wedding at Triple J Manor House in Mocksville, NC, had already been years in the making.

Matt and Ross met through Ross’s roommate Kalle Davis, first crossing paths at a dinner party in 2020. It wouldn’t be until a Memorial Day lake trip in 2023 that Matt’s interest was truly piqued. He began attending Mount Vernon Baptist Church in Atlanta — where Ross had long been a member — and by August 2023, he told her he was interested.
They officially started dating on December 5, 2023. Less than a year later, they were married.
The Proposal: A Full Day Built Around Her
Matt had planned the proposal like he plans everything: thoughtfully and specifically. He’d arranged the day off for Ross without her knowing, taken her on a sunrise hike at Stone Mountain, a lunch at Good Kitchen (the site of their first “kinda-date”), a painting session at Splatter Studio, and a shopping trip to Lululemon. Their officiant was Pastor Dustin Butts — Matt and Ross’s own pastor from Mount Vernon Baptist Church. The congregation sang together during the service — a detail the couple specifically wanted captured on video, and one of the most moving moments of the day.
Before the recessional, the congregation sang a final a cappella hymn. Matt and Ross walked out to “Psalm 150” by Corner Room.
The Wedding Video: Every Moment, Nothing Staged
When Matt and Ross filled out their video planning form, they were specific about what they wanted — and what they didn’t. No bridesmaids’ reveal shot. No overly staged footage. First dances followed: their first dance together to “More of You” by Chris Stapleton, then Ross with her father Bryan Andrews to “River of Dreams” by Allen Levi, then Matt with his mother Jackie Flynn to “Simple Man” by Lynyrd Skynyrd.
After toasts from groomsman Fred Odom and a blessing from Bryan Andrews, DJ Stephen opened the dance floor. As guests filed outside for the grand exit, Matt and Ross shared one last private dance in the empty reception hall — just the two of them — to “Dancing in the Moonlight” by King Harvest. Then they stepped outside into a tunnel of bubbles.
