Rachel + Kincade: A Covington Gardens Wedding in Pleasant Garden, NC | K2 Weddings

Before Rachel ever saw Kincade on June 28, she had a first look with the men who had been in her corner the longest: her dad, James, and her brothers. Our videographers were there for it, and so was the family thread that ran through every hour of this wedding. A brother made the introduction, a brother officiated, a sister sang, and her siblings even pulled off a surprise with our DJ Sean’s help.

Rachel and Kincade McAfee were married on June 28, 2026, at Carter Pond at Covington Gardens in Pleasant Garden, NC. K2 Weddings provided their Ultimate Wedding Day package: wedding DJ service with DJ Sean, wedding videography with drone coverage, and LED uplighting for the reception.

A Love Story That Started With a Brother

Kincade, who goes by Cade, went to school with Rachel’s older brother, Sam. About two and a half years ago, Sam introduced them. On their wedding day, Sam stood at the front of the ceremony as their officiant and gave a toast as co-best man.

Cade proposed at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens in northern Virginia, with Rachel’s siblings behind the cameras shooting photos and video. So when Rachel and Cade chose to say their vows beside a pond at Covington Gardens, it felt like the next chapter of a story that started in a garden, too.

The Ceremony at Carter Pond

Sean had music going at 4:30 as guests found their seats. At 5:00, the bridal party and family walked to an instrumental arrangement of Beauty and the Beast, played in full the way Rachel asked.

This was a big, warm processional. Cade’s parents, Mark and Sheila, walked first, then Sam with Rachel’s mom, Helen. Seven pairs of bridesmaids and groomsmen followed. Cade’s sister Madison came down as the “Ring Maiden,” and his sister Emerson walked as the “Flower Maiden” alongside baby Lucy, their niece and the youngest flower girl of the day.

Then Rachel walked with her dad to “One Love” by Kohta Yamamoto. Rachel asked for it to fade out right around the one-minute mark. Sean timed it to her request.

A Reception Built Around Family

After family photos, our video team took Rachel and Cade for 10 to 15 minutes of moving shots. Those few minutes give the highlight film its breathing room, and I always encourage couples to protect them.

At 6:30, Sean announced the newlyweds as Mr. and Mrs. McAfee. They walked in to Natalie Cole’s “This Will Be (An Everlasting Love).” The toasts came from Madeline, Rachel’s sister and maid of honor; Baylor, the best man; and Sam. Then Rachel and Cade cut the cake to “Sweet Pea” by Amos Lee, and the dances began. Their first dance was “When I’m With You” by Sheriff.

The father-daughter dance is the moment I’d want every couple to read about. Rachel and James danced to “In the Garden,” and Madeline sang it live. That same morning, Madeline had done Rachel’s hair and makeup. Cade then danced with his mom, Sheila, to Morgan Wallen’s “Thought You Should Know.”

Sean’s Behind-the-Scenes Surprise

Rachel learned on the wedding day that Sean had quietly helped her siblings plan a surprise for her. Her sister had always planned to sing for the father-daughter dance, but she didn’t know both of her brothers would sing with Madeline too.

That is the side of a K2 DJ couples rarely see during planning. Sean met with Rachel and Cade on their schedule and worked through every detail in their planning forms. He also made room for the people who love them to add something of their own.

Rachel put it this way in her WeddingWire review: “I found out at the wedding, he even went one step further and was so kind to help with my siblings on a wedding day surprise for me.”

A Private Last Dance and a Bubble Exit

Rachel and Cade chose a private last dance to Matt Redman’s “10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord),” and they wanted it filmed. Our videographers captured it, so it will live in their film without the crowd around it. At 9:55, guests lined up with bubbles for the send-off.

How K2 Weddings Covered the Day

Rachel and Cade booked our Ultimate Wedding Day package, so one contract covered their DJ, videography and uplighting. Our video team started at 2:00 p.m. at both getting-ready locations. We also flew the drone for exterior shots of the gardens before the ceremony. We also provided beautiful up lights to add some ambient lighting to their reception space.

Weeks later, Rachel wrote this on Google: “I am absolutely in love with my wedding video and look back on my whole experience with K2 very fondly.” She added that booking DJ and video together as a package made it even better.

Rachel and Cade, thank you for trusting us with a day so full of the people you love.
